Mobile video sync
Open the device’s built-in web player in your browser, select a video and its matching motion scripts, and your device can move in sync while you watch. This guide applies to PCs, iPhones, iPads, and Android phones.
Workflow: open the player → prepare videos and scripts → select the files together → start playback. This method uses Wi-Fi and does not require a phone app.
Step 1: Open the device’s web player
Power on your device and connect it to Wi-Fi following its manual. SR3 users should first complete Wi-Fi setup, which covers turning off Bluetooth, connecting to home Wi-Fi, and finding the player’s address.
| Current device connection | How to open the page on your phone |
|---|---|
| SR3 is in hotspot mode | Connect your phone to Genijoy_setup and enter http://192.168.69.1 in the browser’s address bar. |
| Device is connected to home Wi-Fi | Connect your phone to the same home Wi-Fi and enter the current IP address shown on the device’s information screen in the browser’s address bar. See Finding the SR3’s address. |
The IP address is the address of your device’s web page. Enter it in the address bar at the top of your browser, not in a search box. Once the device joins your home Wi-Fi, its address changes; stop using the hotspot address.
Step 2: Prepare videos and matching scripts
You need two types of files:
- Video: the content you watch on your phone, such as
sample.mp4. - Motion script: a file that tells the device when and how to move. Its name ends in
.funscript, such assample.funscript. The script must match the video’s content and version.
Save them in the same folder on your phone and make sure their names match. For example:
My videos/
├── sample.mp4
└── sample.funscriptsample is only an example; you can use your own name. The video and script must have the same base name, while keeping their .mp4 and .funscript extensions. For example, sample.mp4 and other.funscript will not pair automatically.
What if I only have a video?
You need to obtain the matching motion script first. The player does not generate motion from the video alone. Renaming an ordinary file to .funscript will not make it a valid script.
A video comes with several scripts. Which should I keep?
Keep all of them and select them together in the next step. They may control different directions of movement. The player identifies these directions from the markers in the filenames. For example:
sample.mp4
sample.L0.funscript
sample.R1.funscript
sample.roll.funscriptSupported direction markers include L0, L1, L2, R0, R1, R2, heave, sway, surge, twist, roll, and pitch. You do not need to memorize them, but do not remove them arbitrarily. The movements your device can perform depend on the directions it supports.
Step 3: Select files and play them in the web player
Select the videos and scripts together in the same selection; do not select only the videos. Follow the instructions for your phone.
iPhone / iPad
- In the web player, tap “Choose OSR video & scripts”.
- In the file picker, open the folder where you saved your videos and scripts.
- Tap “Select” and select both the videos and all matching
.funscriptfiles. You can select several videos at once. - Confirm your selection and wait for scanning to finish. The Library (the list of playable items) below the player should show the matched items.
- Select a video in the Library to play it. The browser will play the video and send motion commands to the device at the same time, keeping its movements synchronized with the video.
If you have many files, switch to list view and sort by name to make matching videos and scripts easier to find.
Android phones
- In the web player, tap “Choose OSR video & scripts”.
- In the file picker, open the folder containing your videos and scripts.
- Use “Select”, or press and hold the first file to enter multi-select mode, then select the videos and all matching
.funscriptfiles. How you enter multi-select mode varies by phone. - Confirm your selection and wait for scanning to finish. The Library below the player should show the matched items.
- Select a video in the Library (the list of playable items) to play it. The browser will play the video and send motion commands to the device at the same time, keeping its movements synchronized with the video.
The SR3 screen is on, but the device does not move?
Check that the supplied 8.4V power adapter is connected, the side power switch is on, and the speed is not 0%. USB cannot power the servos, and setting the speed to 0% also cuts their power. See Powering on the SR3.
Frequently asked questions
No videos appear in the Library after selecting files
Check these points in order:
- Did you select both the videos and scripts? Videos without any matching scripts are skipped.
- Are they in the same folder, with matching names? Compare them with the file example and check for extra spaces, numbers, or words such as “copy”.
- Are the file types correct? The player scans MP4, M4V, WEBM, and MOV videos, plus
.funscriptscripts. Extract compressed archives first, then select the files inside.
If only script-only items appear, check whether you forgot to select the matching videos or whether their names differ.
A video appears in the Library but will not play
Being detected does not guarantee that your phone’s browser can play the video. Playback also depends on the video’s encoding and browser support; changing the file extension will not fix this. Try another video that already plays in your phone’s browser, together with its matching scripts.
All script statuses show X
No direction script containing valid motion data has been loaded. Select the video and its matching .funscript files again. If all statuses still show X, ask the script provider to check that the files are complete and contain motion data.
Can I use a script without a video?
Yes. After you select a valid .funscript file, it appears in the Library as a script-only item. It can still control the device, but there will be no video picture.
The page will not open, or stops opening after saving Wi-Fi settings
Make sure Bluetooth is off on the SR3, then check that your phone and device are on the same Wi-Fi. After saving home Wi-Fi settings and restarting, check the IP address on the device’s information screen again and use the new address.
Home Wi-Fi must be 2.4 GHz, and its name and password are case-sensitive. If you still cannot connect, follow the SR3 Wi-Fi instructions. Do not immediately reset the device: resetting clears all user settings.
Optional: Upload scripts to the device
The web page’s script upload feature generates files based on script names and writes them to the device’s SD card. This is separate from selecting files on your phone and playing them in sync. For normal phone video synchronization, simply complete the connection, file preparation, selection, and playback steps above.
Before uploading, keep filenames short and preferably use English letters, numbers, hyphens -, underscores _, and periods ., such as sample.L0.funscript.
If uploading fails, check that an SD card is inserted and recognized by the device and that it has free space. Then try uploading fewer files at once. An unavailable or unwritable card can also cause failures.
